Embers CD (2010)

The second of Helen Jane Long’s piano albums, Embers, was released in 2010 and follows on from Porcelain with it’s beautiful piano themes and flowing string arrangements.

(Little known Fact)

‘Finding’ was composed when Helen Jane Long’s father was in a coma and through the frustration and upset of not being able to speak to him, the only way to express this was by writing a piece about ‘finding’ the strength to keep going. Helen wrote a diary for weeks detailing everything that was happening when her father was asleep so that if and when he woke up, he could read it. He did wake up, he did read it.
